1001 TV Shows…
Back in 2015 I wrote a few entries for the October release of the “magnificent octopus” “1001 TV Series You Must Watch Before You Die” (inexplicably renamed “1001 TV Shows You Must Watch Before You Die” in the States).
My published entries were on the following shows:
- Century Falls
- Empire
- How to Get Away With Murder
- Mongrels
- Revenge
- Suits
- Waiting for God
Which is an eclectic mix if ever there was one.
I also wrote another entry on a show called Wolfblood which was a gorgeous show for CBBC and very good indeed. But the publishers decided in the end that covering “Kid’s Shows” was not something they were prepared to do. (Still got paid for it though, so “hah!”).
Another piece on one of my favourite shows Archer was written and submitted but the version that appears in the book is not by me – well apart from one sentence I recognize as mine. The rest is a total rewrite and the episode I selected as as perfect example was swapped out for a much blander replacement. Frankly it shouldn’t have gone out under my name and I would very much like to meet the sub-editor responsible and shake them warmly by the throat.
The rest of it went well, though. And I got paid, so that definitely counts for a lot.
One day I may publish the Wolfblood article here. If I get around to it.
